Louise Rutter – Owner and Manager

LouiseHi, my name is ‘Miss Louise’ and I am the owner and Manager of ‘Little Poppets Nursery’.

I have two grown up children of my own who have each inspired my career in their own personal and unique ways. I am passionate about childhood and the child’s right to be a child. I believe that all children should be able to enjoy rich and varied experiences that evoke their natural desire to wonder, explore and find out. I am delighted to be able to offer a setting that will nurture and celebrate the very essence of childhood.

My early years experience started in truth with the birth of my own children – many years ago; however my professional career was probably instigated by our third child and her very unique and special needs. I began to realise and appreciate that this experience was no different to any child’s needs, particularly in the eyes of a parent, and that all children are special and unique. Her needs were perhaps just a little more complex.

I started my working career in ‘Green Park special school’ in 2000 and worked across the age range from 5-17 in a supporting role for children and young people with SLD (severe learning difficulties) and PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties). It was here I studied and gained my Early Years Care and Education level 3. In 2004 we moved from Wolverhampton to Shropshire and I worked at Kinnerley Primary School in the Nursery unit as the nursery leader. Later I went on to work as ‘play leader’ at Hope House Children’s Hospice and then went on to Welshampton Caterpillars where I was manager.  I achieved a distinction award for my Foundation Degree in Early Years leadership in 2011 and together we achieved an ‘outstanding’ setting at Welshampton caterpillars in April 2012.

I have continued to study and develop my professionalism to strengthen my career and  graduated in 2013 with a 2.1 BA (HONS) in Early Years Leadership.
